Heat not very hot? Help
I have a 95 Cherokee. The heat doesn't blow hot at all. I'm wondering what I need to do to get it to blow hotter? Do I need to flush out the heater core? Do I need to replace the heater control valve? Do I need to put a new thermostat in?

If your engine heats up to temperature fairly fast (under 10 mins) you don't need to change your thermostat. My issue which I cleared up today was the heater core. Just flush and use a chemical to clear out all the gunk. You can use compressed air or water to flush it out.

Yeah I would check to see if the lever for your blend door is moving when you slide your temp. control back and forth. If it doesn't the cable could be the problem. My son '95 had this problem. Swapped in a new cable and wola! heat.

Make sure to flush with water in both directions.
Blow out core.
Add CLR cleaner to core & let sit overnight.
Flush in both directions next day.
Your core should be clear.
If you are still not getting heat you have other issues.
If u have a heat temp check gun,u can check heater core flow by determining temp of each hose. If it's not pretty close u have a flow issue.

This can be diagnosed without just going at it *****-nilly.
How hot are the two heater hoses at the heater core, in the engine bay compared to the upper radiator hose? Your hands will work fine for this.

Hey guys thanks for all your suggestions! Today I flushed the radiator, flushed the heater core and put drano inside the heater core. Then I replaced the thermostat and put a new radiator cap on while I was at it. It's fixed! The heat blows hot now! I'm guessing it may have been the thermostat stuck. The drano took out a bit of junk from the heater core also so I think they both went together and fixed it!

I have the same problem. Except I've flushed the heater core 3 times. Each time thinking I did it better than the last. Last time I used CLR but only left it in about 10 minutes. I've read that it could be bad for the heater core if you leave it in too long so I didn't want to take the chance. I used compress air and back flushed it about 6 or 7 times. Should I leave the CLR in for longer?

I left it in for about 20 mins. It's totally flushed mine out. Did you use water to flush the CLR out. I used a pitcher and poured water in the heater core then blasted that out with air and repeated about 10 times. My heat went from luke warm to it can heat me out. You could have an issue other than your heater core.
