I know there has been a lot of arguing about cone filters and homemade inductions about how they just suck up hot air. But I was figuring since the intake and exhaust manifolds are right on top of each other the air is going to be super hot before combustion anyways right!?! Also everyone wants to know about headers, but isn't the stock exhaust manifolds almost like the aftermarket headers maybe just not as long but over all it has more of a header design than a lot of exhaust manafolds that or really badly designed. So My point is wouldn't taking off your stock manifold and sand blasting it and having it cerimic coated or rattle can coated and then wrapped be the best way to reduce heat in that area in turn making for more power and better running Jeep? Huh HUh what do you guys think?

My cone filter operates just fine in the open under hood heat. My Jeep has only performed better since I tossed that stock airbox in the weeds and made my HB cold air intake.

cut a hole in the hood and stick the cone filter right on the TB... thats what im gonna do... and build a little cowl for it... hehehe

You can also install the LeBaron turbo hood vents as I did.

your intakes gonna get hot pretty much no matter what you do... i say dont waste your time and spend it and the money on something else...

he should have shot the top side of his intake with a temp gun before and after... then we would no if it works well enough for everyones elses time or not...

theres all kinds of other write ups like sticking sheetmetal in between them and wrapping that with tape and all kinds of other stuff... but looks weird to me... and dont think its worth it...

If anything getting them ceramic coated will drastically drop the temp but a good pro job costs some loot!

I wrapped my header and it dose help greatly. Also did hood vents.

i got mine from ebay.... keyword... louvers... got them stainless steel and 2 for like $20...

My bro picked them up at the Pull A Part in Louisville when he got his. They are from a late 80s Chrysler Le Baron turboN but can also be found on some New Yorker turbos. I think there was another set there, if you want to add them to your other parts stash.
