Heater cleaning
I know the heater core gets good and hot but doesn't put out much in the ways of hot air. More like luke warm. Possible mouse nest in the system. How can I clean it out? Is a dash removal involved?

Good flow but weak heat like the blend door is being blocked from going to all the way hot. On a side note... When I changed my head gasket, I flushed LOTS of mud like stuff out of my heater core. Likely stop leak of some sort.

Both heater hoses should be very hot.....if they r, then I'd suspect the blend door. If only one heater hose slowly gets hot, suspect clogged heater core.

Will double check both heater hoses tomorrow. But I'm pretty certain they get plenty hot. Is the blend door an issue on the 97+? Either way, would the dash have to come off to clean/repair the heater box?

Checked the hoses and they do indeed both get very hot. So the core is getting good flow. Just need to tackle the blend door. The thing that makes me think it's a mouse nest is when I turn it to heat, it smells like a used nest. Do these have cabin filters, access holes, or do I just have to take the whole dash off and clean the box out by hand?

Try flushing it first. Mine took 20 flushes before it was clean, make sure you go one way then the other.
