Heater Core valve leaking

Heater Core valve leaking
My heator core valve keeps leaking this would be a no brainer problem usually just replace it. but the problem here is i've went through two brand new ones. and there both leaking where the upper and lower portions meet at that little crease. anyone have any ideas maybe i'm putting the houses on incorrectly? I'm at a loss because i'm almost 100% sure that's how they go on. and I really don't know why it's happening on TWO brand new valves...

If you are talking about the heater control valve just remove it. You don't need it. On the later years the manufacturer deleted them all together. Just by pass it. I have done just that on my other XJ's that had them. You will not have any more problems with it.

What did it control then? and wouldn't there be a vacuum leak there's a line leading to it? also would I connect the upper to the opposing upper hose? and the lower to the opposing lower?

All it did was shut off the flow of coolant to the heater core with AC on.
The heat in the cabin is controlled by a blend air door. Ditch it just like I did on all 3 of my Jeeps in Arizona.........

The nipples on the heater core are 2 different sizes....5/8" and 3/4". Measure the length of new hoses and buy them at any auto parts store "by the foot". Plug/cap the air/vacuum line.

okay thanks guys. but about the coolant lines themselves do I connect the ones across from each other? or is it better to just go and get some new line and connect them directly to the heater core?

I removed mine as well. A) one less thing to break and leak out on the trail B) I think of it as a little bit more of a radiator ad thats all the heater core is, is a small radiator. So I feel you are gaining a little engine cooling from it as well. And as we all know these Jeeps need everything they can get as far as cooling.

The real bonus for me was not ever worrying again about bumping one on a hot engine, having it split, and spraying me in the face with 210* coolant.
