My roomy and I successfully burped the system... no more air. Now... heat is a touch warmer, but still not as warm. Goobs brings up an interesting thing as well, I too noticed some cool air coming in somewhere in the area he is talking about. Where and how and what the hell?

LoL, yea I did some feelin around up there and found what you were talking about. Sure enough theres a CONSIDERABLE amount of cool air coming in there. So, to seal that up, I jammed a big ole spunge type thing thats covered in a felt material. Worked really well.

I think I know the main source of my problem now though. Timber talked to me about this as well. Door seals will play a HUGE factor in keeping warm air in and cold air out. And, since mine are destroyed, the absence of those seals is probably my main problem now. I hope to hit the jy sometime this weekend in hopes of finding something.

If not, I may pony up the cash for dealer replacements. Although I REALLY dont want to drop 90 bucks per door for those.... GRRRR!

Dude, if you can't find them at the junkyard, try here before you go to the dealer:

I, as well will be trekking out into the the yards this weekend to pick some things up. Hopefully it won't be too much of a sloppy mess out there with all the snow melting.

Oh I see. Yea, the part numbers on that site arent making sense to me. They are showing the same part number for the front door seals as the rear, and i know for a fact that those seals are a different shape.

My jeep is blue, with a brand new 09 rust kit... lol. Shes got a big ole rusted circle on the drivers door.

They might be different shape but I would guess it just a generic weatherstrip they sell that they figure works for front and rear, probably just a roll of the stuff that you have to shape and cut to length yourself.

Yea, probably so. Hey J, if you end up at the jy and I dont, could you keep an eye out for any good looking xj door seals? And if you find any, could you shoot me a text or gimme a call?

will do....it's pretty sad that I know exactly where to go in both yards in that area. Pretty soon they're going to start calling me by name when I walk in.

I think the same can be said about us, lol. My roommy (DSandine on here) is pretty well known over at the one off Harrison.

Well, I managed to get a full set of seals for 20 bucks. Installed them today, havent ran around yet to test out the heat difference, so stay tuned.

I'm so bummed out about my heat. I have a 2000 xj and I have done the following: flush radiator, new t. stat., and flush the heater core itself. It's just warm, on full blast. It's really pissed me off that I have had to freeze all winter. My cousin has a 2000 GC and his heat can burn you.

Just a thought. You've mentioned what you've checked/replaced so far, but what about the water pump? It may be weak, but still working enough to at least cool the engine, but not enough to push through the core.
