Heater issues?
#91
still cant find it either
well mine is still blowing the cold air somplace between the firewall and the heater box or there is a crack in somthing. I got lucky and got friday off so i might tear it apart and try to find where it coming from it is really annoying also but not too bad . I think if i could get it to stop blowing the cold air from wherever it should be pretty decent the rags i stuffed back inbetween there helped allot but its not right so that needs to get fixed correctly. Too bad i wasnt closer to omaha and had 800 bucks i would buy it right now

if the coolant in your heater core froze, you're going to need to disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the heater valve, and flush the core for a while. i would get some hose adapters from a hardware store (really cheap) and use a garden hose. Drain one side into a bucket so you can see the discharge and the flow rate. You will want to open the valve slowly and work your way up so the valve is half way open. I wouldn't go much beyond that. Most garden hoses are at 40psi plus and the core wasn't designed for that much flow....if you push too much through, you may damage the core.
Once you flush from one side, switch the hoses so that you are pushing water in the other direction. You're going to need to switch several times.....if you have an internal blockage, it may take 4 or 5 flushes. Mine did, but it made a huge difference.
I have super hot heat and it's been that way ever since I flushed the heater core.
Can't believe this thread lasted so long. Good luck
