Default Heater Valve delete question?

When I eliminate the heater valve on a 95, can I simply hook up the 3/4

from the thermostat housing to the 3/4 on the heater core and then hook up

the 5/8 from the water pump to the 5/8 on the lower tube on the heater

core? Then plug the little vacumm hose?

The reason I ask is I found a video showing two reducer couplings being used, hooking the 3/4 to the 5/8ths and back.
This vid:

Or if I just wanted to completely eliminate the heater could I just hook the tube from the Thermostat housing to the water pump and then later reconnect the heater core?

Thanks.

I believe I used 5/8 or 3/4 hose on both sides, I didn't use a reducer. Yes you can eliminate the heater core if you want to do so. I'll see if the hose I used still shows the size.

There r 2 hose sizes 5/8" and 3/4". Both sizes r readily available at any auto parts store. Get your tape measure out and measure hose lengths twice and cut once.

If I remember correctly mine was on the end of a "T" arrangement made of metal. I took a hacksaw and cut the HCV off and slid hose down on metal part and double hose clamped it since it wasnt barbed. Been like that a year and no issues.

Why, in this video does the poster say to connect the 5/8ths to the 3/4 and

use a reducer?????

Why not just hook up the same size lines together?

Is the heater core only one way, in and out?

What are you eliminating? Just the control valve and leaving the surge tank T'd off the lines? Fill the surge tank. If eliminating the surge tank, you need to provide a radiator cap and overflow bottle - either by swaping to the later radiator or installing one inline with the upper radiator hose.
