Default help ! Which conical couple to choose

hello
I possess a Cherokee XJ on 1995 with Dana 35C
I want to change my conical couple
On the site Rockauto we propose me an AMC model 35 difference or Dana 35 difference
The diameter is not the same
Which one to choose?
Thank you

Please explain "conical couple." My search shows ring and pinion gearset. Is that correct?

Hello
excuse me, it is ring and pinion gearing
I have to change that but I dont know who to buy.
Rockauto gives 2 choices :
- Dana 35 Differential : DANA 2020481 SVL , Rear; DANA 35; with 3.73 Gear Ratio (with Diameter ring 7.62)
and
- AMC model 35 differential : USA STANDARD GEAR ZGM35 , 4WD; XJ Model; Rear; AMC Model 35; Standard Rotation (with Diameter ring 7.56)

TIMKEN M86649/10 et TIMKEN M88648/10 can put themselves on 2

Which I can buy please for my Cherokee ?

Thanks

pic, you do understand that few of us will successfuly install/mate a ring and pinion. I'm the last guy to say that. I do my own alignment, I'll mess with a steering box, and yes been there three times. One success, one whining but close enough for weekend dump runs in an old Ford truck, and one I seem to have blocked memory of, couldn't have been good!

If you are that talented, or get lucky, hat's off to you. I'd be looking for a JY replacement with the correct ratio. Not sure here in my little town there's a shop that could nail it. Buddy Rick had a shop here do his Toyota which right now has been sitting locked up in his yard for a while. Killer, monster $40,000 Toyota Tundra lawn ornament.

But hey, I got lucky on one of three. Maybe with internet help I'd have done better. Got Prussian Blue?

Chrysler bought Jeep from AMC in 90. (Pretty sure All Makes Combined never made a differential), also no ratio posted there. Being relatively green in this department I'd guess if the ratio matches, it's the Dana that's gonna fit.
