i need help on how to over ride this where the front axle is engaged all the time

alll you have to do is go to the JY and get one peice axle out of of another xj and then make a little plate to cover up the hole in your axle tube

well i dont have time to go to the jy im goin on a trip to badlands, In friday and i have to work 40 till then also i heard you could put a bolt in it or something like that

Do you mean so it's engaged all the time? I had the same set up (soccer mom 4x4) I replaced the 2 piece axleshaft with a 1 piece and made a steel plate to cover the hole in the axle tube. had to measure the inside diamater of the axle tube and axle shaft to seal it. I did that because it kept poping out of 4x4 when I really needed it. Now it works great.

there is a way to shim it over so its engaged il look for the writeup i think its on naxja

i couldnt find the wrietup but basically what you need to do is pull the shift fork out by taking the four bolts out holding it to the axle then you shim it over with washers or whatever and reinstall so it will permanently connected

so put the collar where is suppose to be at and then put the fork there and put washers to keep it from moving. and what kind of gear oil should i use.

The same gear lub you use in your differential is what you need in it... IIRC its about 3.0 oz.

and the collar is to be in the middle to be 4wd right.

yea it has to be over the shafts so they lock together i run 80-90 in mine but that is really up to you what you put in the diffs

the gears are like 3.07 stock gears for a tow package truck

remove the vacuum diaphragm use a bolt and some big washers to hold the shift fork in the lock position
no need to take apart the axle for now
