Help a girl out...
Hey everyone!
I'm really new to this so bare with me please.
I have a 1992 Cherokee 6 cyl. The other night I was pulling up to a stop light and it just died. Didn't sputter or choke out, just stopped running. I called a couple friends of mine and they gave me about a million different diagnosis. I did a few test (not 100% sure I did them right considering it was over the phone and about 1000 miles away but pretty sure) and apparently my coil pack went out. I replaced it today and that didn't fix it. Went through a couple relays which didn't fix it either. Im really at a loss and far from being a mechanic but can at least get parts and attempt it. Its better than doing nothing.
Thanks in advance guys!
Katie

what's missing... Spark? Fuel? or Air? start with inspecting the plugs and have some one attempt to start it with a plug out but grounded. If that's good, check for fuel pressure? Can you hear the pump prime or at least the relay clicking? We need to know more...

I definatly have fuel. I can hear my fuel pump prime. Like I said, I really dont know too much. Im about 99% sure its a spark problem.
And to the guy that told me its my inverted gurtarator...should I go ahead and check my blinker fluid too or maybe theres just unicorns dancing on my exhaust.
I know I don't give much info but I am telling you all I know but anything you guys can tell me would be awesome!
Thanks guys!

If you're getting fuel and it suddenly went, I have to agree with the others on the CPS. It's pretty rare for a distributor, wire, rotor, or plug to just suddenly go out. They tend to sputter out when they go bad. Check/replace the CPS and hopefully that will take care of it.
