She mentioned earlier she could hear the pump prime. Although it could be a bad pump relay I suppose that works sometime and not others. But that wouldn't explain why she could hear the pump and it still didn't start. I am still curious for the response to if it turns over and if she has checked to see if it has spark.

Inverted Gurgitators are notorious for going out on the 4.0Ls... I've replaced a couple of them in my day and man they suck. I've never heard of the "unicorn" problem in XJs though. I thought it was only an issue with the toyota prius.

It may he pumping but it might not be at the proper psi or it may be running but not actually holding/building pressure... I saw this thread on my phone with the new Droid appt and it sends me to the firs page... didn't catch there was more on this already... but it still takes alot of parts out of the equation... everyone keeps yelling cps but it could be a ton of parts... better to trouble shoot and buy one part then buy a crap ton of parts because people keep yelling it out... cps is $90 and if it don't work you can't take it back... once electronics are installed that's it... there yours... I'm just trying to help troubleshoot it out but its not my money so don't matter to me if ya want to hot shot parts...

I just bought a 95 with the same problem but mine starts on starting fluid... had power to the pump so pulled the pump... gonna need a gas tank... sending unit.... and pump... its all corroded and chrystallized... probly gonna need injectors as well... or at least clean the crap out of mine...
