Come-a-longs rock. attach them to something nice and solid. If you have to, park something big and heavy close enough to get them to work.

Plus, when you're cranking on the come-a-longs, get someone to put tension on it with tow-ropes, being careful not to get too close to the rope, so it doesn't snap and getcha.

In mud, it helps to rock it to break suction.

Good luck.

That is good advice 120. We all need to understand how helpful a come-along can be.

I totally forgot about come-a-longs...That in my opinion is an essential item even if you have a winch...I remember int he old days a come-a-long saved our butts so many times out at the river..

The only tow points you can use are tow hooks. I would refrain from using axles.

You may have to lean on the trusty old tool: shovel.

yep, i just got it out about 10 minutes before it started to rain...(wrangler on 33's did the job)

then my friend in his s10 got stuck on a hill and mangled his exhaust on a log and wrapped it around his axle and now it sticks out right behind the cab all bent up. And tore the plastic piece off the bottom of his front bumper.

we used lots of sticks and rocks under each tire and then finally got pulled out...

pictures will be on later tonite when i get around to it...
