Default help me!

I cant find on here any info but when I took my climate control panel off and detached the *****, I unhooked the wire cable for the temp. **** for hot and cold. I have a 98 cherokee. I plugged it all back in and when I turn the **** to change it from hot to cold etc. it wont turn the way and when it does it just twists back like the cable is holding it back. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, the cable is positioned correctly. I think that it is either:

1) something is tight in the HVAC box where the cable connects to

Or

2) the cable is bent too much on its route from the HVAC box to the climate control ****. The cable isnt really bent that much though. Is there a specific route for the cable in order for it to work?

Does anyone have a picture of where to route the cable through?

Well I found out that the problem was where the cable connects to the HVAC box, the little slider piece on the bottom of the box that you can reach up under the dash. It is really tight, even hard to move by hand. Does anyone know if it can be loosened (there's a little hole on the piece that looks like a screw could be up in there but I can't tell).... or has anyone had this problem?

The first question that comes to mind is why did you remove the box in the first place?

I have other questions as well but answers require a little more information than you've provided.

I removed it when I replaced the heater Core and a/c evaporator and man was it a job!

if you found the issue try to resolve it...might have to take something off to get a better view and take apart and rebuild or get new piece that is not working

maybee the outer cable is not seculy fastnet in either end. if not, if will just flex, instead of guiding the inner cable.
make sure its secure at both ends.

good luck

Thanks for the input guys. I have found the problem. I put the blender door in the wrong place when putting the HVAC box back together. Looks like I'll have to take the whole dash and hvac box out AGAIN!

Haha yea. I was so disappointed in myself after figured out what I did wrong. The door fit perfectly and was shaped right for where I put it.
