Yeah, I'm kinda dumb, and my stress level has been super high; The house project, changes at work, interviewing for a new job, fighting for custody of a niece (that one has been ugly), the list goes on. I just want my jeep to work, going off roading is a huge outlet for me, and i put a lot into getting this stupid thing ready for the trails, and it doesn't even run. if you ever wanna see a grown man cry, come over when I get a chance to look at it again this weekend... maybe, probably will have to push till next weekend, because I have to finish this up, help my parents move, and then I'm possibly traveling next week... so yeah, I'll get to all your suggestions as soon as I can. some I've already tried, some are new. I'm going to go easiest to hardest, because if tightening a bolt on the manifold fixes it, that's the best option.

Don't call yourself dumb because I didn't get the right read from what you posted originally. "Through the internet only" for someone you've never met in person is a challenge in either direction. I'm happy to call it me being wrong about your first post because I don't see a bunch of other people with the same idea.

But, yeah, life does get in the way of the rest of life.

I'm just glad that I was wrong and you are working on it as you can with everything else that is going on.

Definitely look at the new ideas and order by ease and cost of testing more than by likelihood or order of presentation. My post is more or less in the order the different possibilities came to me in an attempt to proceed in a logical order, but that may very well not be the best order to do the tests.

so IIWM I would analyze the CPS and sync signal generator signals to make sure they are (1) working and (2) in sync. You'll need an oscilloscope. I use and entry level unit (Hantek 1008C) but anything with at least 2 channels will work. The signals you get should look like this:

There's a lot more involved here if you want to go down this route (like I have a camshaft position sensor instead of a sync signal generator but I think they work identically)(easy enough to find out) but you need your CPS signal groups (blue) tucked neatly inside an SSG (or camshaft position sensor) pulse (yellow):

Also with an oscilloscope you can analyze each individual fuel injector and spark waveform.

Example of an out-of-phase camshaft position sensor:

Thank you for all the suggestions. I don't have an oscilloscope, but I'll see if I can borrow one. I have a list of like 12 things to check/do already. so when I get a chance to do them I'll post updates.

Hey guys, I'm still around, but I haven't had any time to look at my jeep except for a few minutes a few days ago, and did a quick video this afternoon. The o2 sensor wasn't working because it wasn't plugged in.

Wasn't the EGR valve or the intake/exhaust manifold being loose.

Looks like it's losing vacuum as it's revved up. Acts like a clogged exhaust.

a vacuum gauge will tell you a LOT about engine state and performance

I dont think you have OBD2, so would need to hook up a manual one, but they are only about $20

I KNOW its not a clogged catalytic converter because I disconnected the exhaust, and it still did the same thing. I agree that it is a vacuum thing, but I cannot for the life of me figure out where the vacuum leak is.

I was going to smoke the system, to see if I could find a leak. I have an R.E.M. II that shows what the ECM sees what the vacuum is (see previous video I posted).

Fuel pressure been checked?

The vacuum reading on the REM should work fine.

Yes, Fuel pressure has been checked, It also has a new pump/filter/injectors (and the shop swapped out injectors with a running jeep with no change)

If you go to 3:35 in the video I posted above, you can see what my map and vacuum readings are.

I will get others to comment, but if the reading shown at 3.35 in the vid represents vacuum in in-hg, they are way too low imo

just from memory mine runs 15-26 most of the time, other motors too

I see no reason why a renix motor would be much different

that motor sounds like ****e, does it have a major exhaust leak ?
