Help me price my RHD jeep
Hello all! I have recently acquired a 1996 Jeep cherokee Country with the 4.0l. It wasn't until after buying it that I discovered it was a RHD imported from Japan (everything is in Japanese). The odometer shows 149345km which is 92800 miles. Unfortunately, it has a decent dent in the right rear quarter panel and has a rebuilt title. Otherwise it's actually in really good shape, just needs a good cleaning. Very minimal rust surprisingly.
My question is, what would you pay for this? Or what would be a reasonable price? I'm a certified mechanic and I have experience with body work so I plan on bringing it back to good condition and . However, I don't want to put too much time or money into it if it's not worth it. I'm not much of a jeep guy so I don't know how much of a market there is for something like this. I'm located in Utah if anyone is interested 😂
Thanks for reading, looking forward to the replies!

there used to be guys that did deliveries and had "postal" jeeps, so they may be interested, their was a thread on this within the last week or so
If you have the mind of wrecking it, you could still sell all the running gear to a LHD owners and retain the RHD specific parts
I have see a few US people wanting RHD parts, and I tell them that Australia, where I live is a good source
The Postal people will probably pay good money for the RHD parts

I didn't know there were any RHD 2-doors, we certainly didn't get them in the UK.
That might make it a bit of a rarity but although some people like them 'cos they're different, the real demand is still in the rural postal community - but not sure about how suitable 2-doors are for their purposes.

One of the band members of The Vapors might be interested in your imported Jeep.

call a few post offices and get the word out. Maybe a rural carrier would be interested. If you put it in decent running shape ,ask $4000.00

Occasionally I still see them in my area. $2500 to $5000 or more depending on how it looks & drives, what yet needs to be done and if there is much rust on the underside. As it sits $1000 maybe.
RHD parts can be difficult to find and an export version would have a few other differences. This place has a few RHD OE parts: https://teamcherokee.com/cherokee-1984-1996/
Bet you were surprised to find it RHD. To be legally imported into the US a vehicle that did not meet US year of manufacture standards has to be 25 years old. If its a legit import that would mean 2021 or later. If it went to Canada first there are different rules. You might want to research vehicle history to verify it can be titled if it did not come with a clean title. Otherwise selling could be more difficult.

I'm moving to Australia. I've considered moving the drivetrain of my rusted out 99 to a RHD model before moving. They are hard to find and there's a huge premium for one of those bad boys with a cult following! They are usually about $2500 more than a comparable LHD model. I tried to scoop up someone else's unfinished RHD XJ project without wheels and axles or engine but in the time I figured out how to move that bad boy someone swooped in quick and got it! That extra $2500 especially once you add shipping has essentially priced me out and I'll just sell mine and buy another one over there. $2500 for RHD plus ~$5000 to ship... NOPE! That's the value of a complete and decent XJ!
