No I'm sorry I should proof read what I typing my typing skills suck,. When I get it started if I tap the gas pedal it will die right away and if I don't tap it will run maybe a minute and the idle racing high then low to an almost stalls a few times before it finally does stall.

The gauge is compound meter and Max's out at 10psig there's a stop post there so it can't go any further. I've checked both lines for blockage and both are clear fuel filter is new and so s regulator.

10 psi is not enough. It is supposed to run at idle at about 33 pounds. This would have been nice to know since the things I have suggested were with the assumption that you were running at 50 psi or higher

You mentioned that it's surging at idle, yes? Have you cleaned the IAC valve? Easy and cheap to do...

I would also suggest verifying the pressure at the rail, most parts stores have tools for rent...
And, as stated above, once you get it running, definitely check your motor and transmission mounts, that header screams worn mounts, haha

I apologize I'm not that sure of what I'm doing or in what order they could go , this is the gauge I'm using I may be looking at wrong but it doesn't go that high so I'm obviously doing something wrong or the gauge is wrong ?

I see what you mean. That gauge is designed for a carbureted system where typical fuel pressure is only about 2 - 6 psi

I can get to idle at 1100 to 1300 but only with the map sensor vac unhooked, and no reading at the temp gauge ,this has got to be several things wrong not just one component causing all these problems. Is there any chance it jumped timing ?
THanks again Have a day

You can pick one up at Harbor Freight. You don't have to be exact, juist in the ball park

I think you can rent them from advance or autozone for free.....you buy it, then they allow you to use it and return it , then they give you all your money back ....a decent alternative if you cant buy one
