HELP new to the jeep family jeep not starting
Just bought a 97 jeep Cherokee sport 4.0 on Craigslist over the weekend drove it home 140 miles next day decided to do an oil change pull it in the driveway finish the oil change went to start it to let the filter fill with oil then recheck oil. Well it didn't start it's not even turning over. When I changed the oil filter I let the oil filter fall so I'm thinking oil got on the starter and thats why it's not starting? I checked all the obvious stuff still nothing.. Any help is greatly appreciated

Assuming it's an automatic I recommend...
1.) Try starting it in Neutral.
2.) Try starting it in Park while jiggling the shifter forward and back.
3.) Try tapping the starter with the handle of a hammer or screwdriver.

Good place to start is where you were. Check your connections at the starter. Make sure all the nuts are tight and none of the wires are lose.

In post #8 he already stated nothing happens.
So, lets continue in a slow-down-for-a-second mode.
Besides your connections, did you also check your battery VOLTAGE?
