Looks like it will be this evening or Saturday morning before I get time to look at it again, had some work come in. Motor runs real good, that's what kinda confuses me about this but maybe somehow its all just staying together in that perfect spot.
I appreciate all the help, more than I can express and just am praying its something I can fix myself.
Thanks guys

Until he posted his video I thought maybe the movement was due to a missing oil slinger, but now I see his problem is it moves out and not in. I wonder what that's doing to the timing chain...

quick question, if its the crank bearings, that a difficult fix? Trying to weigh my options here and simply dont know enough about internals to make an educated guess.

"replaced"...leaves a big question mark. Just my 2 cents, wanna hear from the others. If it only has 80K and something freakish happened with the thrust bearing, maybe pull the engine and put all new crank and rod inserts in it. (just priced the rod inserts, $20). A load of work, but might not cost too much. You might pull the pan and check some of the others with plastigauge to get an Idea of the wear. Maybe a compression check and "wet" test to get an idea of the condition of the valves and rings.

It can be one of those things, "I did this so I might as well to this", "well as long as I did this and this, I might as well to that" On an on it goes till you have all new cam and lifters and a chrome T-stat housing!

I have my doubts about the replaced motor tbh. He didnt have any paperwork or anything to support his claim so I will assume 230k.
Thinking I am pretty much screwed at the moment with this motor, timing couldnt have been worse as my finances are currently taking a break from occupying my wallet, works slow and new baby just came...he, as well our other 3 are healthy, mortgage has been paid and food on the table, the rest will eventually work its way out.
thanks for you guys help, its been appreciated.
