Yeah, I figured that amd I was thinking just go ahead and replace the hoses and all if I did a new radiatis because my hoses have like brown crud stuck to the side. And if i put clean water in my system within 1 or 2 drivibgs its back filthy.

So my question now is this. I have a 94 XJ with a radiator that is only about 3 yeas old and 1 of those years it was parked with anitifreeze not water.

So its basically new. So at tgis point it wpuld be cheaper (I think) to convert to an open system since I already have the radiator and maybe good hoses. Ill check those out. Unless you advice against it.

So what else wpuld I need to pull off the 94 or buy new? Of course I'll do some searches.

Also I am going to do a flush before putting any new parts on to hopefully eliminate as much dirt/rust as possible from touching the new/newer parts.

Just a heads up for next time, you can get the lifters out without removing the head on these engines. All you need is a strong telescoping magnet.
