It's illegal to run without flares in some states. Not every one though.

i live i nebraska is legal up to 2inches outside the body.

I still need to figure out Idaho (Originally from Nebraska); I see lots of trucks with tires that stick out but I'm afraid if a cop sees my XJ on the road they'll pull me over. I won't drive it on the road until it looks a little more acceptable so maybe I won't have any issues

Cut and folded and riveted the drivers rear quarter panel today. Now time for some bed liner and i will be complete.

lifted93xj - was the cut and fold on the lower quarters fairly easy? I was looking into doing this soon.

took me about 3 hours because i cut out al the rust and put sheet metal in its place but pretty easy

My drivers side has some rot on the fenderwell part of the lower. I've got a donor quarter panel from some sedan that will gladly donate some sheet metal if need be.
