Default HELP with turn signals

I have a 1996 XJ. None of my turn signals work and neither does my hazard lights. I've checked all my fuses and they're good. I've replaced my turn signal switch on the steering column. And still nothing.. am I missing something

Here are some things that come to mind:
  1. Was the problem present before you replaced the turn signal switch?
  2. Just to verify, you did check power across the fuses (not just a visual check)?
  3. Did you check the bulbs in the odd event a surge blew them out?
  4. Gounds (already mentioned)
  5. Work the emergency flasher switch up/down several times in case it's not making a good connection inside
  6. I've had it happen before, where a couple wires in the ribbon harness on top of the steering column (that goes from the top of the column to the dimmer), I've had it where a couple wires in that large cable of 20-wires, melted and caused funky tail light issues. You might get under and inspect them carefully.
  7. Headlight switch??

yes, the relay is a special one, dual hazard/flasher, suits Chrysler and other makes, bright yellow, they can apparently become faulty due to a bad solder joint inside.

check the fuse if any

the problem present before I replaced the switch is that the turn signals dont work. Or the hazards. So i tested fuses. At first I wasnt getting good reading then I charged the battery and everything was ok. So then I said to hell with it and just replaced the turn signal switch in the steering column. It looked original and was in OK condition. After doing that I still have nothing. Some of the bulbs were burned out but I'd still get the clicking on my cluster when I turned my turn signals on wouldn't I?
now someone on here mentioned a relay. Where is it? I thought the 96 xjs didnt have a relay. At least that's what I read online

the relay is bright yellow, a special one for hazards and flashers, remove the knee panel between fuses and steering wheel, it should be there
