No no no! Please don't mention the brand of spark plugs! Now this thread will have double the nausea of oil and spark plug bias. Sounds like you got bigger issues than those items. I'd start a new post for that subject. This one will be all about rotella and NGK NOW.....

Ouch. What is your oil pressure? Change all that crap when you next get the chance. Good god. What happened to it? Sounds kinda like the PO had very little idea what he was doing. (Threw parts at it - which unless it was dragged off the bottom of a lake never makes sense.) If he cheaped out a lot of low end sensors are garbage and may cause issues. For example, CPS not from the dealership.

If you are going to spend that much on a filter I'd go with a WIX/Napa Gold or a Purolator PureOne (or Baldwin if anyone local carries them), or get a Purolator Classic or Motorcraft FL-1A (Purolator makes filters for Ford/Motorcraft, the FL-1A is basically Purolator PureOne media in a Classic can with a different end stamping) and save a couple bucks.

That 15 year old FSM, that most likely has 20+ year old info, recommends "energy conserving" oil. Wouldn't 5W30 be more energy conserving AND lubricate the motor quicker than 10W30 when the oil is below operating temp? Haven't vehicles overall gotten better over the past 20+ years?.......motor oil certainly has. 10WXX, 15WXX........why?????

Thats at idle at operating temp. Scary!

Okay sounds like a good plan. You are on the right track. For your money, skip the Mopar and ask the NAPA guys for either a NAPA Gold 1515 or 1459 filter. They are excellent.

In later model 4.0Ls Chrysler updated the manuals to reflect impoved performance of VI Improver polymers. Late model TJs list 5w30 as preferred.
