I'm new to jeeps, but GM calls a model a classic if there is a new body style out and they have the last model "left over". For example, 1998-99 Chevy changed body styles of the C/K 1500, but you could get a 98-99 in the old body style called 1500 classic. I don't know about jeep, cuz they haven't really changed much. If it's not broke, don't fix it. LOL

Talking about trims, my 88 is a Pioneer with a Gold pin stripe along the sides and an Olympic label, anythind special about this one?

Not particularly I never knew about the Olympic stuff til someone asked about it. It seems that several dealers did that in certain years when the Olympics were hosted by the USA. I for sure but that is what was offered as an explanation in that thread. 1988 Olympics were held in Calgary/Seoul

Other than the pin stripes and the stickers is just a plain Jane,

Classics had different seat trim (leather option) and door trim panels had map pockets, also power windows/locks/seats (I think) were standard. A lot of them also had ABS and 242 transfer cases.
