Hesco T-stat housing
I'm not sure about the flea-bay unit but I purchased a Hesco unit. The quality appeared to be very good and I think it was less than $60. I replaced everything in my cooling system and the Hesco was the only part that I "upgraded" from stock.
It runs about the same temp as it used to before everything started getting all plugged up, but I think it runs a little more consistant temp. First trip 4wheeling it locked on 210 and never went above all day.

Don't see how a hi-flow stat cover can do much to improve coolant flow. It's the t-stat itself (along with the water pump rpm) that allows more or less coolant flow to the rad. Kinda like the throttle body on the intake......it's not the body of the tb that restricts flow, it's the opening/closing butterfly inside the body.

Personally I don't see how it would make any difference. But I may be wrong. But like djb383 said the flow would be controlled be the water pump and t-stat.

Well for the $35 or whatever it was, the opening was physically larger and it sure looked a lot nicer than the corroded, nasty one that I removed. It's probably all in my head that it helped anything and the real winner was replacing all the components with new components.
I can live with spending $35 on snake oil.

yeah not running a tstat is bad but if u wanna go that route get a coolant restricter does the same as tstat but dont have to wait to open ......... because you want the coolant to be near the engine long enough to absorb the heat

A restrictor vs a t-stat will probably set a CEL. The OBD-II CEL is set if coolant doesn't reach X temp in X amount of time. A restrictor should never be used in a street vehicle, only a t-stat.

Most important thing after polished alternator and scull emblem.
