Highflow waterpump/3 core radiator.

Highflow waterpump/3 core radiator.
I want to switch out to a high flow water pump and a 3 core radiator. Is it worth the extra money? Has anyone done this and seen a substantial difference in cooling power?
I live in a place that is pretty hot in the summers so I would like to have the benefit of extra cooling if possible.
Thanks.

I dealt with a run hot issue for 2 years and replaced everything in the cooling system except the radiator. When I finally got the funds to do so, I upgraded to the 3 row CSF radiator and have punished my XJ on the interstate and the trails with no more overheating problems. I'm using a stock replacement waterpump not a hi-flow.
Since you have a 87 with the closed system, go ahead and get the later model open sytem radiator and do that upgrade as well.

Cool, thanks for the input. Ill start with the radiator when I get the funds. I also want to swap out to open system rather than closed pressure. If I buy a 3 core will it come with the filler neck or a direct replacement for the closed pressure system that is already there?

When you order yours just specify 91 or later and it will be the open style with the filler neck. When I ordered mine, it was shipped free and even delivered on a Saturday only 2 days after ordering it.

I didn't see a CSF for the Cherokee listed.
