I reckon you're gonna need a new oil pan.

Oh yuck. That's the stuff that keeps me awake at night with high-mileage motors.

Not that you just won the lottery or anything, but better the pan than the side of the block. The pan is at least replaceable.
Anything in particular precede the broken rod? Noises? Hard shock to the driveline?

If the hole is not to big then i hot a fix for you. Did it on a ole ford zx2 i had that i knocked a hole in oil pan from a huge pothole at blockbuster.

Drain oil. Clean then scuff up area real good. Apply JB weld. Then let it sit for 24 hours. Sainded first layer down and applied a second covering a lilbigger than first. I drove the car for three additional years with no issue.

If it happened on the jeep though there are too many oil pans at JY's i would just get a new old one. At the time all i could get was dealer parts for the zx2 and they were expensive.

On second thought u got a whole lot more to worry about than a hole in pan.

some DuctTape and silicone will fix that! j/k

Good luck. i hope it didn't do much damage other than an easy fix on replacing the pan.

I bought my 03 Rubicon in 03 with two holes in the oil pan. Had two rods snap and go through. The other four were bent. Had the high performance machine shop take care of the bottom end and the crank was still balanced and straight.

Jeep was 'flood' damaged when I bought it.
