It is a 1/2 X20 thread...any automotive silicon-gasket sealer...just a little in the slot to block any oil seepage

Thanks for asking Cruiser. Everything went fairly ok. Turned out the outer HB completely separated from the inner at the rubber junction. Disconnected all of the radiator except for the lower trans fluid connection and that was enough to move it out of the way. Got the HB off ok but that front seal turned out to be a b. Had to take the bumper off to get a better angle at it. I'd gotten advice to use a flat piece of iron or wood to put over it when pounding it back into place and I'd say that was good advice.
Started her up and sweet silence! or no squeaking anyway.
