Hood Louvers
I'm thinking about adding these to my XJ in the future.

Besides the obvious, are there any other advantages or disadvantages to this mod?
Also, I'm new here so It may take me a while to find my bearings...

Thats why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Everyone has they're own taste....
If you like it, buy them. I just think it looks kinda beaner.

Understandable. Do you know of any other options instead of these? They were just the first ones that I found online.

HOLY YOWZA thats expensive.
many people use chrysler lebaron hood vents, or the rare grand cherokee 5.9 hood vents. alot cheaper and do the same thing.
if this is to keep temps under the hood down though, that money would be better used properly maintaining your cooling system.

My Jeep is black so I would be getting the black louvers or paint them to match. They would of course be for cooling the engine, but I also like them because you don't see them too often around where I live. They would really make my hood stand out.

This is what I did. It's breathtaking isn't it? $4 a piece. Worked great. It even let me see the flames shoot out when my power steering line popped all over the hot exhaust! I believe in function over form. But I also beat the crap out of my stuff.
