hood wont open!

so the passengers side hood latch wont release on my cherokee. what could that be from? anybody have any experience with this?!? Help! thanks in advance

Try hitting it in top on the side that won't release. After it opens spray the spring down with WD40.

Pull the hood up enough to get your hand in there, grab the linkage and move it by hand. When you get it open remove both latches and clean them, then re install and lube with white lithium grease
