Default Horn will not stop

'89 Cherokee. The horn had not functioned since I replaced the ignition switch fifteen years ago, which included removal of the steering wheel. Today I had the switch replaced again, and now the horn won't turn off. My theory is that some parts went missing the first time, and today's work was done without that knowledge and things just happened to go together to always make the connection instead of always be open.

My questions therefore are

1) Where is a good location to disconnect the horn circuit so it doesn't work and I can at least drive. I combed the schematics without success.

2) What is the exact parts stackup in the Cherokee sport wheel? What I have doesn't quite match the manual illustration. Thank you.

Something is grounding there. Is there a spring in there? Probably a fuse for the horn. Not as familiar with pre 98

Till you can fix the issue crawl under the front of your Jeep ; driver’s side and unplug the connectors that going to the horns.

Thank you. Your comment inspired me to look again and this time I found the connectors on each horn, one on the left and one on the right. It's time to get the missing parts and rebuild my steering wheel. Dunno what happened years ago, I guess parts were lost somehow. Probably I didn't have time to deal with it. But not having a horn is a bad idea sometimes.

Fyi, I'm pretty sure your horn relay is in a ridiculous spot way up in the corner up behind the fuse-box. Tough to reach or even see. I think the wire the horn "button" grounds comes directly from there.

You might be able to hear the horn relay click each time you turn the key to the on position if everything is quite.
