Read my post. You said "'92+ don't have disco axles." I have a '92. You are contradicting yourself.

In what way is centrifugal force being applied to the front driveshaft in 2WD?

the force of the one axle not being disconnected will cause the shaft to spin at higher speeds mine does it ,i also have aquired a vibe at 65 and up since i streched my front shaft its of just a little bit from being tru im removeing mine this weekend and seeing if my vibe goes with it.

Although many say 91 there were some XJs made in 92 that still had the vacuum disco.
Discos were in them if they had a 231. 242s were non disco.
Some 89s were non disco too.

If your 92 has a 242 that would also explain your front DS not spinning.
I have a non vacuum disco 231TC. My front is always spinning. I've hopped out with the E brake half on in 2wd to check.

OP take your front DS off. Could be pinon bearing in axle. Output shaft on TC also.

Ghost riding?

My '92 also has the factory tow package and limited slip rear diff. I don't know if that would affect anything up front or not.
