How can I find out if my jeep has the TracLoc diff?
Im almost positive it has it. My 88 XJ has an open diff...one wheel spins all the time.
But the 97 XJ I have, both wheels are spinning as far as I can tell. Its the Country edition, has ABS and im pretty sure it has the Dana 35 rear.
Just want to make sure before I change the fluid. Dont want to put the friction modifier in if its and open diff.

You can also get the numbers off the tag and post em and I bet we can find out that way as well. Other then that pop the cover and look. Also if it has ABS it is a D35

Just the way this jeep reacts on the dirt/ice/snow/pavement...Id swear it has it...It reacts just like my GTO does, and my yukon that has a posi unit. My 88 jeep doest react the same way, but maybe its in my head? hehe.
