Either my front axle tube OR my axle c's are bent, I have too much camber and instead of just guessing and repairing, im going to replace the whole axle from a JY donor since its only $40 for the whole assembly.


Do I need to have any special tools to remove the front driveline since its 4WD? Also, do I need a spring compressor, or will they just loosen up as I remove all the other suspension components

+1 for ball joints... replacing an entire assembly instead of parts is a little over kill...

Never mind you'd have to replace ALL of those parts on a JY axle anyway.

I just put brand new upper and lower ball joints in, that's why I think its my axle, because the camber isn't gone.

Even if they are not the problem you can move them to the new axle when you swap.

A junkyard axle is highly more likely to have more problems than the one currently under your jeep

just keep in mind there is a difference between early 99 and later 99 axles.
they require different hub bearings and rotors.

Have you had a alignment to see for sure the axle is bent?

No special tools needed. The coils will basically fall out once everything else is removed. You may or may not need a spring compressor for reassembly.

Not quite correct. The hub bearing and rotors are a matched set, the rotor type used requiring a different stud length (bearing). The axles are identical.

I know you don't need it but I am seconding this. I have early 99 hubs and brakes and will need to go to late 99 when I upgrade to 30 spline shafts.
