How do AAL's work in aftermarket leaf packs?
I've just been looking into options to get another inch and a half or so of lift out of the rear of my XJ. I already have a Rough Country 3in Full leaf pack but im looking to go to 4.5 without a whole new pack. Just wondering if anyone has put AAL's in aftermarket packs since im thinking the RC 4.5 in AAL is going to lift it more than just and inch and a half since the rear is already lifted.
If this is the case is there another AAL size I should be going for, maybe a 4 incher from another company? And also, while im expecting it to sag a hair over time, I kinda want it to settle at around 4.5 and not keep going down, is this a realistic expectation or is an AAL just not going to do this for me?

Alot of kits come with 3" springs with a shackle for more lift because the bigger the arch in the spring, the rougher it's gonna ride and less it will flex. I would get RC's or ironman4x4's adjustable shackles and lift it to 4.5" that way.
To answer your question, yes you can add AAL to a new pack. I have old man emu 2" HD leaf springs and added TWO sets of old man emu AAL's to it for a combined 4" of lift. I got away with adding two because OME aal's are not stiff like traditional AAL's.
