These bodies are thin and flimsy. I can't tell if it's a 2d or 4 door but if you mean the front door I'd say just pull it really hard. Assuming the latch is still good and disengaging.

I'm imagining a modern day three stooges routine. I can see it now. The poor soul holding the outside door button gets whacked in the face as the door flies open. Just warn the fella on the outside first. It will take some brutality to unstick collision damage.

Since it doesn't look that hard to pull open due to the sheet metal interference, I'm thinking that maybe you can't get it open because the latch itself is jammed. From the picture, it looks like you need to give it a good shove INward, and likely forward, too. Try a big crowbar near the latch and lever it forward while pushing in on the door, then go through the 3 stooges routine.

Now that you have all the remedies and solutions from here, () did you get it open ??
If it's a front door, the A pilar may have been pushed or pulled back a bit too, keeping the door jammed & stuck...

If you are by yourself and you don't need to keep the old one I would say a demolition grade sawz all and an air chisel would do the trick. By the way is that a Med Fern Green Metallic XJ you have there? I have only seen maybe 3 others besides mine.

Than you all for the advice and the laughter. I managed to do it with two large screwdrivers and a hammer; however, I am now looking to replace the door but because the door is bent up i can not access the star shaped screws attatching the door. Does anyone have a writeup on front panel removal so I can access it that way?
