Default How do I remove this center console?

Alright I'm changing out the center console in my XJ and I can't seem to get this thing off because of the parking brake handle. I've unscrewed everything and now I'm stuck. Tips? Solutions? Thanks.

I had to pull that handle way high to get mine off...may need to loosen your E-brake cables to allow it to go up high enough. Just a thought.....

This is what I ended up doing and I didn't run into any issues after that. It was nasty under there to say the least. I found 51 cents though!

Now I've got a nice looking one that doesn't have craters from cigarette cherries.

When I put a console in my 90 XJ, I had to pull the Ebrake handle as far up as I could... You did take the insert out from under the arm rest, right?

Yea it's been done and over with. I pulled the parking brake handle all the way up and then it slid right off. I'm pretty happy with the change.

Most likely a local junkyard or on ebay. Try craigslist even. People sell random parts all the time or even part out their jeep that isn't running.
