I love my renix also!!! I've got less then $1000 in my 88 xj. And have been driving it for a year now., the Jeep is very sound, almost 196,000 miles and doesn't leak any oil either. Just compare the xjs you've found and choose the one you like the best. In the end the only person who has to like it is you. . Xjs and high mileage pretty much go together anyway.

x2 x3s on all the posts on this thread the only ? thing about the renix is the cooling system but if you maintain it so what it still has I-6 which according to my mechanic whos not to fond of jeeps quote the engine is virtually bulletproof my 2cts. PS I prefer anything before ob2 less bs

The biggest problem everyone points out on the renix models is the cooling system, the closed system has the potential to out cool the open system. ONLY if all the parts are working correctly IMO! for the money it would take to recondition the closed system its just as cheap to convert it to the open system, that's what I did in my 88 and it cools great. It was simple to do also, the 4.0s are virtually bulletproof engines., granted the renix doesn't have as much aftermarket support as far as bolt one go. But what do you want to build a Jeep or a racecar?
