I yanked my flares off then unbolted those metal peices. and the side molding get a blow dryer and heat it up then get your finger under it and yank it up. (its pretty hard to get under so dont be in a hurry) then peal off the tape left on there

a hair dryer wont get hot enough for the trim. you can just yank the piece of trim itself, and then get a heater, i used a ceramic heater, and get it as close to the adhesive as possible and just peel it away. it'll take a while, but i think it looks better. as for the flares, if you break the bolts, its easier b/c you can just pull the metal piece off and dont have to fight the bolts.

are you taking them off for good or only taking them off to paint? if your going to put the flares back on then be careful with the bolts. and if you only wanna take the trim off for painting, dont take it off, just tape it off.

I just want to paint them. But since one of my rear flares is really loose and about to fall off, how do I attach it better?
If I pull up on it, I can see the metal bracket?

Blow dryer?? A heat gun is the way to go here...A few minutes with a heat gun and a little adhesive remover and it was no problem removing the trim and the decals if you want to go for a more "stock" look..
The fender flares, are a whole different matter and a serous PITA...Passenger side on mine are falling off, saving for Bushcrackers....

The 97+ flares are a pita with falling off when they get tapped. I went back to pre97 flares when i painted my rig. With these you can use regular hardware... and the bolt holes are identical in all years.
