If not, put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and take her for a spin, warm her up hot, then drop the oil again, replace it with 10W-40, replace the filter and ix-nay on the Lucas. That's my advice.

Here's a little bit about Lucas. I've had excellent luck using 5 quarts of oil and 1 quart of MMO to get ticky lifters to quiet down BTW.

I used 5qt 5w40 (shell brand, the ONLY brand I could find with it) and 1 qt MMO. My jeep is as quite as its every been. Oil pressure is a little high now cold 60 but driving and when it warm it stays right at 40 like before. just my .02

This Moly stuff has me curious.
Another fun fact most people using synthetic oil are not actually usuing synthetic oil, but a dinosaur base stock ( group 3)with some pao base stock also some group 4/5s ( actual synthetic but very expensive )

My Comanche has about 1,000 miles on the same treatment and it's identical lifter problem is way reduced and I suspect will be gone by 1,500 miles or so.

Just trying to save some people a few bucks, and you can look it up on bob is the oil guy, all kinds of good stuff, literally hours of good info backed by tests and research, made me finally choose Rotella t-6 because of the added zddp for our older xjs, I don't use any oil additives because most are frauds or actually harm your engine, I use zddp boosters and that's about it, but this moly actually has me sold lol

My 00 z71 had a tick like a bad lifter . I used lucas and it got worse. Traded it off after that. Ive seen lucas work some miracles and Ive seen it make stuff worse. I knew a dude that had a wrist pin knocking in a F150 that had the 5.0 and when he put lucas in it would stop.

Lucas does have two types of gasoline engine oil additives. 1 is a conventional fossil fuel additive which is thicker like honey. The other is a synthetic makeup and is significantly thinner. I have used both additives in my XJ, WJ, 97' 4.6 liter F150, 1970 FJ Cruiser with a Chevy 350. The normal 4.0 liter tick seemed to disappear with the synthetic additive. These additives do work, I have had my oil tested to prove to myself it was worth the cost (My company owns heavy equipment and we send in oil samples regularly to ensure our millions in equipment is working properly) so I sent used oil with and without the additive in for testing.
Have you used NAPA brand oils before? I use nothing but Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W-30. I live in Colorado and honestly depending on where work takes me in this state it could be -20 to 110 degrees between oil changes.
