First off search death wobble. Please search before you post, keeps the clutter down. Very common XJ issue.

Anything, I mean ANYTHING in the front end can cause it. Worn bushings, bad tie rods, bad ball joints, worn steering stabilizer, etc.

There are more than two threads here on Death Wobble. Search a bit more.

I had it on two of my XJ's. In both cases it was bent belts in the steel belted tires. Once replaced the problems were gone.... But that was my case.... You should check all suspension and steering components too.

Best to double check each thing, one at a time to rule out possible problems... No need to spend unessesary money.....

Check your tie rods. Thats what caused mine a couple weeks ago. I couldnt get about 30 and just the left tie rod was bad.
