How to get rid of squeaky steering wheel?

Default How to get rid of squeaky steering wheel?

My girl tells me the Jeep is squeaking when she turns the wheel.
Anyone run into this? and have a cure for it?

mine does it when its cold. i just drive it. it stops when the cabin warms up.

Spray some silicone lubricant where the steering shaft goes through the firewall.

Well, today I drove it and wow,,,, it does sqweek pretty bad when turning either way. seams to be the wheel it self near where it comes close to the dash. may have to get some lube/spray for it, I can see where she's get annoyed by it.

I secretly hope the squeak never goes away but Im sure some lubricant will solve it.

My '99 squeaks too. Badly. Only/especially when its cold. It eventually goes away. Honestly, I never thought much of it. lol
