Default How many miles does your 0331 head have?

I'm curious to find out how many miles drivers are getting out of their xj's with 0331 heads.

List your year and mileage:

01 - 173,375 and still going...

All 2001 Cherokee's have the 0331 head... And, I think all 2000's and some 99's... Lots of info about them on here. The casting number on the head itself can be checked too, if you so desire.

All 00-01 xj's came with the 0031 head. I believe some 99's also have it.

To identify the 0331 look on the top of the drivers side head for he marking.

151k, DD, no problems. It runs so well that it's boring.

bought a 2004 GC with a 2000 motor, miles unknown, was losing a small amount coolant (before I added bars stop leak) and only 4psi oil pressure, so I suspect a cracked head. A very busy DD and after a 14 months and many miles it is still running strong with no issues and not losing coolant. I planned to drop the pan to roll in in a set of bearings but wanted to rule out a cracked head first. The head looks like it had been removed so maybe it had been replaced before.
