3" is the max. you dont wanna go any higher as you will limit down travel and you will also wear your springs as it will curve them.

about 3" is the max for most front end components the majority of the time. control arms and track bar are a guaranteed 3" max

3.5" if you want any kind of a decent street ride and any off-road flex. 5.5" if you don't care about ride and only wheel at the mall, arms too steep for any real flex and shock absobtion. Now, If you were to add control Arm Drop brackets, you could go to 6.5" with same ride qualties of 3.5", and near same flex as long arms.

Do not go blocks in the rear. Specially with an AAL. you will fatigue your springs within a 1000 miles almost guaranteed... In the front you can do a control arm drop with new springs of course! in the rear make a bastard pack or get a new leaf pack.

If I do a 3" or 3.5" lift, would it be better to get the control arm drop?

Honestly, that's kinda tick for tack. Eventually, lift will never be enough lift. I feel ya and others on this thread, trying to keep things affordable, I myself am in the same position.

But for what it's worth, Lower Control Arms are probably the best route, as they will allow for future accommodations.

Just my 2 cents.

No, Control arm drops only work 4"-4.5" or more lift. With only 3"-3.5" Adjustable Control arms and Adjustable Trackbar, is the way to go.

I realize this thread has been dead a long time but figured it would be good to add the info requested in case anyone else was looking for it. The drop brackets from Rubicon Express drop the mounting points 3 inches down and 1/2 an inch foreward.
