How much does an XJ rear weigh?
I'm about to swap my rear and was wondering if anyone knows how much a stock XJ complete rear (Drum to drum) weighs? Just wanted to know who and what to take with me to get it out of the junkyard as the SUVs etc are near the back. Thanks

IDK the LBS but its light enough to do it by yourself if you can roll it or have a dolly or wagon. but heavy enough that a second pair of hands, will be helpful

I have pulled several and hauled them out of the jy by myself, but my back did not appreciate it later. A second set of hands will make it much easier. If I plan on pulling one I will do so with a helper. I have only done so by myself when strolling through the jy just sight seeing and have found a D44 and I'm not leaving there without it.

Im guessing heavier then the front axle which didnt seem all that light to begin with. A second set of hands is really the best thing to have in this situation, just pulled on for my 98 a few days back and snow and mud dosent really help. Also if you dont have anything to carry it back with you to your XJ (id recommend finding a friend with a truck) just put the rims and tires back on it and push it back.
