Default How to remove transfer case stud?

Im in the process of doing a transfer case drop on my 2001 xj. It has one bolt and one stud.....how did you guys go about removing the stud? If I heat up the stud with a torch and some vice grips do the job??

Should just work back and forth when removeing.

I used a small pipe wrench.
