Default How to Replace 2000 XJ Motor Mount?

I'm in the middle of replacing the dreaded 0331 cylinder head on my 2000 XJ. While I have the intake and exhaust manifolds off, I thought I should replace the driver side motor mount. Good idea?

If it is, I thought it would be easy. But there's a big heat shield riveted onto one side on the mount. Am I supposed to drill out the rivets to remove the shield and access the bolts beneath? Do I then re-rivet the shield onto the new mount? Is there some other way to remove the motor mount?

I would appreciate any insight and suggestions here.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to bend the shield up and out of the way well enough to get to the bolts. Then just bend the shield back into place.
