I just measured the center of the hub to the wheel well and I have 17” exact on both sides. Is that about right?

That's what I had before I did all the suspension swap on mine.... are you rear leaves flat or have negative arc by chance when sitting on level ground?
at 17ish on each side of mine, the original rear leaves were pretty flat...almost starting a neg. arc... which is a clear sign of worn out.
