i prefer the hydro's, they're better for flexin out. the nitro's are gas charged and will always force themselves open where as the hydro's will hold the flex at full stuff.
the nitro's also tend to be bumpier on the road.

and that's my 2 pennies, for what it's worth

I like the bumpier ride, don't know why. Being able to hold a flex is pretty important though, hmm. Now I really don't know

you are about 100% wrong there.

there is no shock that will flex better than another.

the only deciding factor is length.

I was leaning more toward the nitros anyway.

nitros are stiffer, hydros are softer. i ran both shocks before but were skyjacker brand. they make no other difference than that. neither of them "holds" the flex or anything. they cant suspend an axle in the air unless they are too short like ktm said. based on your preferences, the nitros will work for you. i dunno about rough country but i prefer skyjacker shocks cuz of their lifetime warranty. i took two in due to leaks and they replaced em no questions asked.

the OME shocks are some of the best, which i run also, but are soft and probably wouldnt fit your needs. but let me tell you, the price difference is worth it.

Ya OME's are the best I have a 2" OME kit and it is great I don't think I could ever buy an RC lift because I have been spoiled with the good stuff

True. I have their shocks that seem to be a bit too short now (5" lift on ome 2" shocks with bpe's). I need longer ones but don't wanna get rid of these nice ones.

Well I might be able to take those off your hands, if I got shocks I could just get the springs/leaves for my lift kit (not sure if that's even "allowed") or hawk off my "old" springs.

Have you run them before? I had two sets on my TJ. They are soft like these OME's and are balanced well for off road/ on road use. I never experienced any ill effects of running these shocks, except the leaks which were my own fault for not bump stopping them correctly. I've had ranchos, bds, pro-comp, fabtech, Doetech, Monroe, and a couple more and these were the softest and nicest next to the OME's. This is coming from someone who's VERY **** about ride quality

for the rear you can always raise your shock mounts.

The lower mount? I have no welding skills or have anyone around here that could. The bpe's i use on top are full traction and they drop the shock 2".
