Default HydroLock?

So about a week ago i was wheeling and took a hole a little too fast the XJ shut off and tried to crank a few times nothing. after about 5 minutes tried again and it finally started, and we continued home without any problems after which i got the water that was in the air box and cleaned it up . A couple days later we went again and it started and everything was fine, then on the way home at an intersection went to take off and the engine shut completely off. Now it will try to crank but wont turn over to start and I'm a little lost at what should be done. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks once the rain clears up down here i will get out there and check the plugs. I read somewhere to pull the plugs then try and start it to see if it will push some of that crap out. Any truth to that? Also saw that some people use drygas to get the water out as well.

if it cranks you arent hydrolocked. sounds like you got a sensor wet like previously mentioned. check your crank sensor and others

I had the jeep shut off on me like that once and it was the alternator. It's real easy for them to get gombed up with mud being located on the bottom. You can try jumping it.

For further diag let's see if you are getting spark or not then we know what direction to go in. Check spark and let us know if you have it or not

Free possible fix, try unplugging everything and check connections as you go...one at a time, and plug back in.

So I was able to get under her yesterday and did an oil change, Change the air filter, put a quart of lucas oil treatment in with the fresh oil and seafoamed it (obviously not in that order). Spark plugs were disgusting with mud and burned up replaced them and then started her up. She ran decent but the idle was off probably at 300 rpm at the most so I drove it around the neighborhood and when I shifted gears the Jeep bucked like crazy so I feel like I have centered down to the TPS for sure

If it's bucking it could also be o2 sensor.

I'd replace the CPS, and possibly the TPS. Also take the distributor cap off and make sure theres no water in there, check condition of cap and rotor
