Oh yeah, I did a very complete brake fluid flush last night with the help from a friend who pumped the pedal.
The difference from before and after is startling! The previous owner had new pads, cut the rotors and shoes for the drums but I wondered... is that all the stopping power???
OMG... If I'm not careful stomping on the brakes for a last second turn, the brakes will lock up. Before I'd just sail past the turn lol
The color of the brake fluid was nearly black and took some time to get it all out. I wish I had a way of getting the reservoir cleaned out, but I didn't and time didn't allow. But 95% clean is better then 97% dirty.
If your brakes can't lock up 31x10.5 tires then flush your brake fluid.

I've been thinkin' about doing this to mine... Should I flush all the fluid first by cracking open the bleeders on all four corners and then filling it back up with new fluid and repeating or is there another way to do it? Never actually flushed brakes before, and I've been noticing increasing stopping distance on my jeep.

make sure you have a large bottle of your choice.
Best to have two people.
if you think it's very nasty/dirty then start with the caliper closest to the reservoir, so you don't push all that junk through the entire system. Some people might fight that logic, but it works for me.
After you get the bulk of the dirt out, go to the pass rear, then D rear, then pass front then D front.
Make sure the reservoir never runs dry, you'll have a long time ahead trying to get the new air out...
I tell the pumper person to do 4 pumps and hold the last, I open the bleeder til it stops flowing and repeat at least 5 times per wheel and or til there is no more air bubbles.
Excessive- yes. but I like overkill.
You will have lots of brake fluid all over the place with my method. be ready for a clean up if you care about the floor.

So I picked up the bumper corner and as soon as I held it I knew the color was off...
I mentioned to the guy, the color is too dark and too much flake in it, he was positive that it matched.
LOL...
You tell me?
I've had this inverter for 7+years, been great. So time to live under the passenger seat for a while.
And...
did some welding.
as I mentioned in the other thread, 96XJ brackets are too different from my 99's
We really didn't take many pictures.

the brackets are different...
1996 XJ-
so I changed them to work, the sort of triangle part was welded on, so I undid it and moved the orginals from my 99 to the 96 bracket.
The brackets are basically stock again and bolt in with stock hardware.
